Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on our new bull? He is an Optimus Prime x Goldmine. He is a registered 3/4 blood simmi. His registered name is SBSC Playboy. The bottom left picture is a picture of his dam. Thanks for the input.

Not finding him on ASA website. There are only two cows registered with SBSC prefix. Is he registered?

The registration is pending transfer. And he came with that name already registered. Thanks for the positive input though. Do you think he's worth collecting?

The bull looks fine, but I think you should have second thoughts on using that logo to advertise him. Its a registered trademark and I dont think they take someone else using it lightly.

Nice bull. However, he is not registered yet, so if you wanted you could change his name (unless you like it!). With ASA, as soon as a registration certificate is created, they are put in the database and given a number. Transfer has nothing to do with it, you would still be able to see it. Now, if his original owner has not submitted papers on him at all yet, that would explain it not being in the data base. That is why I looked up the breeder prefix, SBSC, to see if I could track down his dam.
So, I was looking for his EPD's and dams data. I like him. Don't care for the name, but that is besides the point. When he gets papers and EPD's I'd like to see. Do you have the dam's registration information?

His dams name is Shawnee Miss 145p, not sure what her registration number is. She is the also the dam of LAH Sue 604s.

Well.........keep in mind, only the logo is a registered trademark, not the name. Originally, the word "playboy" meant  "Stud"womanizer, lout. and generally, a boisterous, arrogant party animal, somewhere between Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.

I like your Bull, but don't Simmental bulls have to be 7/8 to registered purebred?  If not purebred, I don't think it would be worthwhile to collect him.

Not true now a days Dan, 3/4 bloods are hot right now. Use them on a purebred and you get a "purebred", or breed them to a half blood and get a 5/8.  Bulls like Optimus Prime, Montecito, Top Grade are all hot right now, all 3/4 bloods. Top Grade is a Genex bull getting a lot of attention.  In a lot of cases, the 3/4 blood SIMM bulls are bringing better money at sales.  People seem to like that "almost purebred" genetic diversity.

ditto to FWR's post.

also, Make sure to not use the name in the same font as Playbo's logo.  While you might win in court, you could still have to fight a cease and desist case.

With Sim Solutions as hot as they are, all his calves would be 3/8 registerable that's why we are considering collecting him. We are using him on 1/2 blood simmi's and clubby bred cows.

I do like the blaze face.

I am somewhat new to taking a closer look at EPD world but I want to know what EPD table you are using on the ASA site. My understanding is that if the calf is not a purebred Simmi or Simbrah then you have to use the "Hybrid" table and based on that the #'s are ok, but not great. I know that there is more to it than that and maybe I am just considering it for commercial reasons and not the show ring.

Not trying to start a fight, just wanting to learn more.
