what are your thoughts on this bull? did anyone use him? does anyone have any calves on the ground that were sired by him?

He was on my top 3 bulls I saw last spring at stud for new bulls out. Only thing I dont like is the white on him. Otherwise I think I would have bred many cows to him.

I am also interested to hear the answer to his post. I was thinking of breeding some cows to him this year and would like to hear of anyones experience with him.

I took the risk and use him to flush to our TH 1/2 simmy cow hoping to get somes steers out of the deal ending up with 9 eggs.  Will find out next yr if it pays off

i used him but its not due to calf until 4-30 so i will let you know more then. i was just wondering what the calves were looking like

He is thrown really good calves so far nieghbor as 4 on the ground out of him 1 is  a dr who that looks to be really good, good bone big top about 27 days old. I bred him to two redangus herford red wht blaze face cows real deep and good milkers so we will see in about three weeks.

How sound is he? I like the fact that he is bigger framed compared to most clubbys. I like him and Smiling bob, but not sure how I feel about the char on SB's dams side.

Smilin bobs dam doesn't have any Charolais if I'm not mistaken I believe you are confusing him with captain Morgan a promotion bull out of the same cow and a hoo doo sand creek bull

Karlton, he's not a bigger framed bull. He's kind of your tipical clubbie framed bull. That's the way I read him as a yearling. i haven't seen him this year. He may have taken off and grown up into a bigger framed bull. Anybody seen him this spring?

Karlton, he's not a bigger framed bull. He's kind of your tipical clubbie framed bull. That's the way I read him as a yearling. i haven't seen him this year. He may have taken off and grown up into a bigger framed bull. Anybody seen him this spring?

I got to see him this year as a 2 yr old and Thriller is definitely a bigger framed bull for a clubby. He really took off and grew well.

Looking forward to seeing what we get out of him, Bred 8 cows that will clale in Sept.

you seriously didn't use it just because of the tiny amount of white it has on it?

Yeah its like 3 spots, and I saw a red smiling bob calf that looked nice if that helps

That is exactly right.....White faces does not bother me but with his markings and some cows I have white with I dont want 10 plus calves marked up like him. Just not going to take a risk of not selling them as show calves because if they don't it comes out of my paycheck for ever single one of them that brings less at the salebarn. And I think the bull I used primarly is a little better and solid black.

I saw thriller up to Hawkeye breeders a few weeks ago and thought he looked pretty good and has nice size two him as a two year old.

There's no doubt that chromed up calves won't sell as well as the solid black calves here in Iowa @ least.

My buddy used him on 2 cows and they seem to lack a little in bone mass... Anybody else noticed this or maybe its just his cows  ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
