Oh im used to it by now...here they dont go straight to the 'packing plant' they either goto an auction or to a feed lot. I have been showing dairy feeders for 5 years. 1st place i market every year thi year i may get GC or R GC and i wont have to sell him i may be a 14 yo girl but im not a priss it is sad but i get over it. I will cry but i get over it. #nuffsaid :)

You're lucky then...

I'm 15 and every one of my 4 dairy steers were complete babys and complete retards  ;D

It's always a teary walk for me to put them on the trailor, not going to lie.

when auctioning my steers off u feel like you want to punch yourself in the stomach to smile. you get so attached. I do cry. When I think about it my heart goes faiohgion4rgreniern I don't like to think about it but i love the memories. Especially because all of my dairy steers have been bottle babies:)

We butcher our own and I am always thinking I'll have have harder time with one(ours are very tame bottle calves too), but everytime they SOP something to make me mad when we are loading them to take to the neighbors where we do everything...one stepped on me to the point that I couldn't get boot off for about an hour and the other slammed me into the trailer wall while loading...that made it easier while I hated to see them go.  Some of my bottle lambs get me a little, but I have a friend take them for me...its why I don't do the carcass stuff at state fair, I couldn't do the "lamb parade" as they walk them to the trailer.  I realise that's their purpose in life, but the good ones get me occasionally.
