But I bet you clean and redo/refresh your stall. The ones I'm talking about never touch their stalls.

Oh yeah I dont doubt it a bit....but by the end of the week, the stalls look horrible, and you just want to completly redo them but its point cuz only one more day to go.

Do yo uguys have any luck packing wood chips instead of cedar fiber?? We get free wood chips for our fair, so I would like to use them

it depends. i like the cedar fiber, because it stays wet forever, and pack like a rock.

wood chips or wood shavings?? some people call them the same thing. chips may pack decently, but they can get too big and may not stay wet. shavings can pack better, but they suck at staying wet. again, depending on where you get the bedding, it can be nice shavings, or dust.

the iowa state fair usually had pretty good bedding. it is like a chip, but smaller. they are a little dusty, but when they are wet down, they pack perfectly.

since you get free bedding anyway, take it.

Yeah I like the way cder fiber packs, but i cant find it around here. My wood chips that i get are more like Wood flakes they are big a flakey....

ours doesn't either, as in permanent tie outs. but we can't even go to our trailer. at night we walk around our small showring 15-20 times. in the morning we let the calves loose in the outside sand horse arena for 20-30 minutes. they love it. the calves run, buck, kick, play and do hot laps around that arena. (cow)

we had those flakes once. they work great for the horses, sheep, swine, etc, but not for cattle. when the flakes are that big, they don't pack nor do they hold moisture. our cedar fiber comes from a place in texas, but we have it shipped to an ag store near us.

On your signs I have found that you can buy 8 1/2" x 11" sticker paper. You can get it in clear or white. white is easier to find. Print from the printer just like paper it saves the gluing it. I like to use microsoft word to do my signs also. You can use the fading of colors and patterns.

i make our stall signs on the computer also...attach them to the thicker white board so they aren't so flimsy and blow all over the place with the fans....then cover with clear contact paper...if your signs get a little dusty, just wipe clean with a damp cloth, good as new again....you can also use colored duct tape to make a finished edge around your sign....and NO, its probably not up to some peoples professional standards, but it works for us!

I make stall signs as well. These are put under plexiglass. One is for a sale and one is for stall card for a show. On stall cards, I go ahead and print out whatever the information I want to use ( name, birth date, 205 day weight, sire, etc. If any one needs any, PM me.
