What does every one think of this bull? How are the BWs on his calves? Does he fix any problems in some cattle, for example give them more volume, rib, thickness, etc...? Is he working well on all lines of cattle (like non-trump lines as well as trump lines)?

I hate shorthorns and I have had them all my life. Gus and Ivy League give me hope in the breed.

I'd add another certain young bull to that list, but I agree with Yuppie. Since we're talking about Gus, I'll share what I think about him specifically.  He is one of the best bulls I've seen in person.  Thick, LONG, deep, balance, he pretty much has it all.  Then when he gets on the move you think you're looking at an oversized cat.  I saw him at Denver this year and I don't think I've ever seen a two year old bull look that good.

I'd really like to see some pictures of Gus calves if anyone has them. He's a nice bull, hands down. Don't think Ivy League has any offspring yet? We had a really nice heifer from Deadwood this year.

I would also like to see some pictures of Gus calves if anyone has any I would like to see what his progeny look like because I am thinking of using him on the majority of my cows. I to agree with you yuppie but OFS what other bull would you add to that list?  I also kinda like that new bull Wernacres Off Road.

Here is our TM Gus heifer at about a month old.  I had just removed a cast from her left rear leg so she show some hip atrophy in this photo.  She is out of an Outrageous / Double Stuff cow.  We really like her but are not showing her because her leg healed and turns out pretty bad.

TM Gus is like Ace of Diamonds, for some silly assed reason both bulls have flown under the radar. If you want good sound functional cattle both bulls work good. NOT EVERY BULL WILL WORK WITH EVERY BLOODLINE. There are very few herds of any size that don't use at least 2 or 3 different bulls. I have seen calves out of both bulls on several occasions and depending on what you want, they both have a place for longevity in the shorty breed and for crossbreeding programs as well.

Ace of Diamonds also crossed my mind I cant believe more people aren't using him, I really liked his calves that I saw at jr. nationals. Maybe more people will use him after seeing his calves at jrs. I actually had a very nice bull calf born out of him last year and had planned on showing him but he died this past spring. This bull was very stout boned, had a big foot, tones of rib, was well muscled, walked really well, had good structure, and great hair. I have this heifer that I am sowing and am still debating on what to breed her to. Her sire is Tonic and her dam is a Wallstreet x Oketo cow I believe. Would either Ace of Diamonds or Gus work on her to get a good show calf?

Shorthornboy- The other bull I wanted to add is our half sib to Ace of Diamonds, Hi-View's Red Diamond. He is solid red and polled, we have an ad of him and many pics, PM if you'd like to see.  He's a Wernacres Ace High x Hi View Sonny's Kora.

I am not sure that TM Gus has flown under the radar, as I know some of the major breeders of Shorthorns are using him extensively in both AI and ET. Gus is presently leased to Derek Jungels in ND. Gus is not only a great looking bull but he is calving easy as well. Stumpy said he has bred all his heifers to him for the past three years now. I will look for some pictures Stumpy sent to me and see if I can post them later. I think he has just left (or is leaving tomorrow) for Argentina.

I had posted before I was down at Fischers about three weeks ago. The Gus calves were awesome there was a Gus charlois steer calf that was really cool wide ,deep and hairy, kind of yellow (maybe yellow jacket color?)

I am the same way, they had flyers for Off Road hanging up at nationals and that bull always seemed to catch my eye. I have a cow that would probably be a good match for him.

Also Major Leroy calves seem to be more like a tame than a calm cattle. I have one he is not halter broke but you can walk up to him and touch his legs . Off Road seemed very easy handling.

In regards to Leroy calves, they are without any doubt the quietest calves I have ever worked with. I weaned several last fall and when I tied them up for the first time, they never even pulled on the halter. A couple of Leroy heifers were halter broke from the moment they saw a halter. The Dunbeacon herd in Australia, wanted to test Leroy in their herd, so they purchased 300 doses to test him against some other herd sires. ( I really like the way the Aussie's test a new sire,....none of this buying 5 or 10 straws). They now have their third crop of Leroys on the ground and Ian McDowall phoned me a few weeks ago to let me know that they were featuring several Leroy sons in their bull sale coming up soon. He said that they have been raising purebred Shorthorns on that farm since the 1870s and he thinks the Leroy calves are the best dispositions they have ever had.

Here is a picture of a Gus heifer that Stumpy sent me. I have a couple others here, but I am still looking for them.
