I was wondering if anyone knew anything on the new genex sire MCM Top Grade.  He is a son of Upgrade, and looks to be made right.  Are there any calves out there?  Anyon know about the cow backing him?

If there are calves sired by him they are going to be very young. I sampled him in December and will have calves in September. I'm pretty sure a few others that post on this board are trying him out too. He doesn't come from a well known cow family but he is backed by 3 generations of cows with an average BW ratio of 103 and WW ratio of 106 which sounds pretty good to me.

Any current thoughts on Top Grade?  Anyone have any calves on the ground? I'm curious about soundness and calving ease.

I have calves that were born in September and October. I'm very pleased with mine. They are sound, have good dispositions, and birth weights ranged from 60-90 lbs. I didn't use him on heifers but I think he should be ok for heifers.

The only negative I have to say right now is he doesn't appear to add any body depth to his calves. But overall I am very pleased with mine.

Any updates on how Top Grade calves are looking? What kind of a cow does he work on, will he add any rib?
Thanks
