I am looking for some breeding advice on an old bull called "Total Play".  What type of cow does he work best on ?  What is his frame size and are there any pictures of him ?  Thanks for any information you can give me.

I found this in an old semen tank.  Someone told me that Cattle Visions in Clark, Missouri may possibly have some.  So what type of cow makes these awesome females ??  Thanks.

he's Chi. Black, scurred. born 1987.

Doug Crowe from w alexandria, Oh & Bill mills from Katy, Tx owned him

Registration info is:  http://www.acaregistry.org/detail.aspx?reg=187623

Not sure what works on him. I know Foreplay's dam is a Total Play.

Deep gutted angus cows. He was a Klingner bull. The southern iowa guys have tons of TP cows that are clubby machines. They dont look it to me, real big, high flanked and gutted, chi looking, but it seems like every time you see a calf you like its out of a Total Play cow.

you are so welcomed Patti! My foreplay cows have been very deep, wide tank cows. Great moms & producers. Powerplant cows would also be a good idea.

There aren't enough of the TPs in southern Ia. I would use him on my best cows, aiming on making them better, but if I had to pick a style of cow that I would aim for it would have to be moderate to small B/C he he going to be taller B/C of his vintag & Chi. If you find some TP, please PM me. Thanks, Cab

If you look at all the good bulls that he produced, he could easily be one of the most influential bulls in the clubby industry, especially in the 90's.  Many sons such as Foreplay, Debull, Playboy, and Schwarzkopf to name a few were used heavily.  Just like his sons, breed to moderate big bodied cows.  An Ohlde type angus would be a neat mating.  He will add style and frame.  He did not make them tremendously thick, but thick enough in my opinion.  I am not sure, but I even think that Full Throttle was a Total Play.  Good luck with your semen.

I was way off on those two bulls, guess I did not study those old show circuits hard enough.  Speaking of Full Throttle I have some in the tank, that I have never used.  Anyone still using this bull, and if so did he breed the same a Flush?

Throttle was very hard calving, calves had a notorious throttle attitude, and could be hard doing. On the upside, they were very thick and had a real unique look. Flush seems to breed a little softer, a little easier calving, more moderate everything while still having a cool look.

I would use throttle again in a second on the right cows. He could stamp them for sure.

Patti, can you get ahold of Total Play semen? He makes awesome cows.

quote]  Cattle Visions has some Total Play semen at $60.00 per straw.  There phone no. is 1-866-839-3353.  They are located in north Central Missouri by Clark, Missouri.  I have purchased semen from them for years and have been totally satisfied.
