I was just wondering what and if you can feed your show calves treats? For pigs it's marshmallows and syrup and horses peppermints....but what about cows? Are there homemade treats you can give them too?!? Please comment and share your thoughts!  ;D

My cow loves the dobbins delights alfalfa and raspberry...I don't remember the act (angel)ual name! Any horse treat should be fine! Or hard candy, even bread! My cow and sheep love bread...to the point of chase you down for it

Not that my cattle get treats, but i guess small cubes would be fine. I would be careful not to mess up the delicate rumen balance giving all kinds of crazy stuff. Personally i don't like animals that beg, so my dogs don't get treats either. And with a show animal i don't mess with the head to much or scratch their head, cause then in the ring that all they wanna do. I dunno, i guess cubes for me or more feed.

Mine don't get them for a reward...just if we have stale bread laying around or little kids come out and wanna see the cow or sheep.  helpful for catching those onery ones!
