Trying to find a bull to breed with heat wave daughters.

I'm trying to figure out what to do here. About every good bull is out of him and am trying to figure out a bull that will cross with his daughters.

Maybe try rodgers new bull extra special

Had you not posted it may have taken a while to find it, this way it does a search for you. There is a search tool but I sometimes have a hard time finding it.

I'd be interested to see how Hidden Treasure would work in this situation. This is a HT x shorthorn we raised.

I have heard that a few people are trying pb char bulls on their double dirty cows. Gives a char composite and they have a pretty cool look.

Hef or his son Rapid Rewards.  Both had major winning calves last season out of Heatwave heifers.  Hef and Rapid Rewards are supposed to be calving ease bulls.  If you want a 50% char composite calf look at Wrangler, Ledger.  Cooley Royce gave me vigorous <70 lb calves the times I have used him, with dainty, halter-horse muzzled heads but he is known more for the production oriented side of things.  After first calving you can look at Firewater to produce a registered 16/32nds charolais composite.  You want something shaped like a snake when it slides out, not shaped like a brick.  The length of the long bones won't be your issue, rather the size of the jointy structures like shoulders and hips.  If the neck is short and squatty, add the head to the dimension of the shoulders.

Good stuff!! I understand the whole heat wave big calves and pulling deal. Most of the best calves I've had where pulled or cut out. That's part of the show calf deal.

Alias is a clean smokey that has produced some good calves with a shot of CE from wmw

I'm not much of a clubby guy but I would maybe try No worries.

We just started playing around in the clubby deal a little bit and I like the looks of him and maybe when they get older try Caught Lookin', kinda like the looks of him a little too.

Did you have any no worries calves out of heifers? Just wondering how big his calves are for that.

I really wish there had been an Ali/Angus bull come that could throw a little style and be calving ease. I think that might have been a ticket for those clubby bred heifers.

You might want to consider slider.  The calving reports have been great so far.  We have calved 5 so far out of heifers and all have been in the 60s on birth weight.  slider is purebred angus. Northern Improvement on a Duff New Edition Exar Lutton dam.  Should calve easy and make very marketable offspring.  He is available through all major semen distributors.  You can PM me if you have any questions.

Korky Wieses American Idol bull (7/8 char) works well on HW or monopoly females if they are soft enough.
