Here is a little better picture of the second one-Monopoly/BKCC Miss Elvis.
He is a growing fool. His Momma is a milk machine!

Very nice steer calves. I couldn't believe how good they look it just shocked me. They are built to be grand champions steer calves where ever you take them.

Thanks for all the compliments. We feel very fortunate to have won Reserve with all the nice calves there showing.
Braun Show Cattle won Champion & Reserve heifers.
This picture isn't the best of our steer, but like I said it was extremely hot & humid.
Ryan Habeger was the judge.

Ann's right--there were a lot of very good calves there.  Her Monopoly calf looked very good and deserved his placing.  Congatulations!!  They've done an awesome job raising him after his momma died.

Brauns brought another set of excellent heifers to take the Champ and Reserve but they had some awfully good competition.  Their champion heifer was the same one who was Reserve Champion at the Junior Nationals last week.  McCartan's had the champion male--a Heat Wave that really looked good.  Young's also brought some very good cattle as did several others.

It was fun to meet and talk with the other SP folks there, Tadpole did very well for his first show--he should have a bright future with cattle.  Also talked with cpubarn, Iowann, and an SP lurker from Forest City who should really be sharing his opinions with us on here.  We missed shebet, though---thought he was going to make the trip from Mondovi.

It was also really fun to watch some of the younger showmen that have purchased breds from us show their calves for the first time.  Most of them don't have a lot of experience but they sure are enthusiastic.

Overall, it was a fun evening--hot, but fun!!  We appreciate everyone coming to the show.

Like your calves. If you want hot and humid come on down here to Houston. It was 111° F in my truck @ 5:00pm. I'll take your summer time weather any day
