Why shouldn't the government find out if someone is digging a pond, leaking waste, overstocking, planting the wrong crop for conservation payments, using weed control on pasture when it's not supposed to be, grazing on pasture set asides, any number of things.

And if I have an uninvited hunter, a kid stealing watermelons, a dope head with a truck backed up to the loading chute,  I supposed to say "keep on with what you are doing".
Don't think so, the price for looking is a warrant

The key for the government is to make examples out of people.

Poor people just dont do the trick, nor do illegal aliens.

The sky should be considered a mineral right.

It all goes to be careful who you elect.

The plastic bag police know no bound.

Both parties are guilty.

I know of some farmers around here have decided to not keep fuel in big supply tanks on farms. They don't need it to get stolen and they don't want the epa hassles of fines for improper stoarge facilities. Seems like everybody started the summer with a 1,000 gallon in storage on the farm. I got thinking that if there is a brekdown in pipelines or refining or whatever there is less fuel in backup on farms then there used to be. They say the grocery stores have a 3 day supply of food if the trucks quit rolling in. Something to think about.

I wonder what they would do, if you were to shoot the damn thing down, and tell them you thought it was polluting your crops? And yes, there are some of us that have the proper tools to do such a thing.

I would be really surprised to learn that EPA has access to "drones" which to my knowledge are paid for and used by various Department of Defense entities.  It's my understanding they don't have enough now for our overseas operations.  I would be really surprised to find out they are lending them for use to EPA.

EPA has had their "teeth pulled" lately with the upcoming elections and aren't particularly aggressive with enforcement actions for environmental violations right now.  If they are doing this, it would be very surprising.

I wouldn't be particularly excited to have drones watching what I'm doing, but I do love to be able to go to the NRCS office and have aerial photography or satellite imagery pulled up of our land for maps (or get on Google Earth for that matter).  In my mind, its a little hypocritical to want it both ways. If its ok for agencies to provide me with imagery that useful for my purposes, it ought to be ok for them to use it for their purposes.  ALL resource agencies use aerial imagery - sometimes acquired by airplanes - for all kinds of purposes. Many cities make extensive use of aerial photography.

If EPA is doing it (which I doubt), they are likely using it to inspect PERMITTED confined animal feeding operations.  When you get a permit, you give the permitting agency the right to inspect your facility unannounced.  The method is up to them.

therein lies the rub.  more and more, a permit is required for more and more.

Well, finally had a chance to Google it and EPA confirms they are doing it.  I imagine their wings will get clipped on this one.

I know there was a time when you could grandfather into the feedlot deal several years ago but I know now that now it doesn't take a whole lot of confined cattle and you are regulated......you most likely have a lagoon even if it never rains...you take monthly readings of lagoon height.....and there are personal inspections. If it is a very big lot they want numbers and or they count cattle. On a 10,000 head lot this gets interesting. I think you are required to clean lots within in 30 days of a pen being sold. I don't see how a drone would work to enforce this kinda stuff. I do think that if Obama can get the government to controll oil and food production.....you are well on your way to a Europeeing socialism system.

obama has little to do with it.  it's more of an infrastructure that needs to keep growing, expanding it's influence regardless of the administration.

Are you saying that it is part of a devised plan by the worlds elite that will happen regardless?

When was the last time you heard the government say we can do less?

When we were sequencing genes for the government, people were raving mad we were giving money back after we did more with less.
