I am planning on using the Simmental  bull WLE Uno Mas  X549. Our goals are good disposition and calving ease. We want to produce a good replacement female to sell. We will breed him to big volume large to medium frame Hereford cows. If you have used the bull what has been your results?

You could do worse; looks like a good solid SM bull, all around.
But, you sure won't be challenging those mature cows with him; calves may fall right out of them if they cough hard or fart.  He's a heifer bull - and I wouldn't hesitate to breed him to any first-timer here.
But, still, he should make some decent daughters for you.

I agree...on mature Hereford cows, I'm not sure a calving ease bull with below average growth is the direction I would go, but I've heard people like those calves all right. I haven't used him, and he's not on my radar at all. He's heterozygous black, so you should expect about half the calves to be red and half of them black. You should get baldies, of course, out of those cows.

I would also look at the Upgrade sons...we've used a bull called Integrate that I've heard good things about. W/C United is making some really nice calves, but he's a SimAngus, so you'd end up with 1/4 SM 1/4 AN instead of halfbloods if that matters. We have our first Hooks Yellowstone on the ground, and I'm pretty excited about him! I'm also looking at some Cow Camp bulls this fall...CCR Wide Range, CCR Gravity, and CCR Spartan.

We have actually bred some purebred Shorthorn cows to Uno Mas this year. We are looking to get some "Durhamtals". <cowboy>
