ok, yesterday evening one of my calves didnt get up and run to the trough at feeding time...he was acting kind of mopey...i got him up, he didnt have any trouble getting up, no temp, but acts a little stiff in his hind end and is real slow moving...and when he would walk, he wouldnt pick up his back feetlike normal, he sort of dragged them...i saw him poop last night, looked normal...but he does look a little like he hasnt drank....today he was about the same, didnt eat grain, but did eat hay...i rubbed all over him, he doesnt appear to be sore anywhere...he is chewing his cud...he is not bloated....this afternoon he kicked at his belly a little and would reach around and lick at shoulder...if he was a horse id swear it was collic...can cows collic?  ive never had a calf do this before...its got me worried...ive got a call into the vet...but.................................havent heard back from him yet...........

he did get his feet trimmed for the first time last friday...but that was a week ago and last night was the first i noticed him not acting right...he's in with 3 others and they are just fine...

The chewing his cud doesn't seem to fit with some of the other symptoms, but sometimes it is hard to know. I would suggest that you have a vet check him out as soon as possible. Could be something minor, but could be something serious as well. Kicking at his stomach sounds like kidney stones, or possible twisted gut. I wonder at him chewing his cud with a twisted gut though. He may just have a general digestive upset, but like I said it could be something more serious. Watch him to see if he passes water. He may have a blockage and if so he could be filling with urine which makes them very uncomfortable, and they will kick at their stomach with that as well. A vet check is your best bet.
