I have just heard that one of our own, Herefordfootball (Chris Cummings), lost his battle with cancer last night.    He was 19.   More info to follow as available.

I am very shocked to hear this news. Chris was such a great supporter of SP and his love of his cattle was very evident. My prayers go to his family in this terrible time.

He will be missed.  He must have been a brave young man to face this disease and not ever say anything about it on here.  My prayers and thoughts to his family and friends.

My prayers are with his family. I knew from a PM that he was in quite a battle. One of the real good ones on SP, he'll be missed.

Knew he had it and there for awhile he was doing real well from the way he talked, he was able to work with his calves and all the things he enjoyed. About a couple months ago he started having problems with it again, but never imagined that it was this severe again. My thoughts and prayers are with his family  (angel)

I personally never knew him but I always read and enjoyed his posts. No doubt a very brave young man that fought the good fight. My thoughts and prayers go with him and to his family, I hope they can draw some peace from his being in a better place and nolonger in pain.  (angel) Fly high Chris. RW

This is terrible news. We would send each other messages about calves. Such a nice young man. Losing a son myself, I know the heartache his family is going through.
My deepest sympathy to his family. (angel)

Very, very sad news. I knew he was battling cancer, but had no idea it was close to this point. I was looking forward to meeting him in Indy next week at the JNHE....puts a whole new perspective on things. I never met Chris, but we shared an interest in Herfs and PM ed each other occasionally.  He even gave us a karma point last year for winning a couple of classes at the Herf Jr. National!  A truly good guy...I hope his family takes comfort in that fact, and that he was doing what he really loved--raising cattle. Our thoughts will be with his family, especially next week in Indy.   (angel)
