Below is a video of a very unsportsman-like action of Florida LB Brandon Spikes against a GA running back!  An Eye gouge like this is absolutely uncalled for!  Will be interesting to see what SEC officials do about this play!  IMO he shouldn't play another game this season!  If the RB from Orgon is out for the season for the Punch and fight, this guy better be out as well. IMO

Thoughts?

Nice catch RSC.  I didn't get to watch the game.  I think there should be a definite suspension of the LB, but doubt it will happen since he plays in the SEC.  If a Big Ten guy did that, he'd get suspended.

Now we know nothing will be done its the great Florida Gators. Its no different than the non existent personal foul against Arkansas that gave Florida the game.

Wow Urban, you came down on him! Luckily you have Saint Tebow around to obsolve Brandon of his sins?

Urban said he will sit out the first half in next weeks game.

urbane might sing a different tune if his QB got gouged.  typical.

in this case, there is not enough pre-innoculation to offset a future penalty.

I caught a lot of this game and this play here is just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to the shenanigans going on between both teams.

If the NCAA reviewed every play and “after play parting shots” there would be a lot more players not playing next weekend from both schools.

That rivalry needs cleaned up before somebody gets permanently injured.

ps
Florida’s QB received an eye poke in this game as well………………..

Jeeze..... Dez Bryant should've tried to gouge somebody's eye out instead of just lying to the NCAA.  He would've been back in 4 games ago.  What a joke. ::)

He is the same guy that broke into the police impound and stole his girlfriends car out last season.  I'm not sure but I think he got his wrist slapped with a ruler for that stunt.  A real upstanding individual!

kinda like laws.  we have to many and the one's we have aren't enforced, yet we keep making more.

i don't subscribe to the notion that the players can't control themselves.  all you have to do is spell it out before the game or season, and enforce the rules without regard to who is breaking them and enforce them equally.  Eisenhower proved this was doable by enforcing the law.  Reagan proved it was not doable by not enforcing the law.  Kennedy knew the law would never be enforced and scammed generations of law abiding citizens since 1965.  knowing that the law will not be enforced is the first requirement of writing laws.

I someone could go back to the spurrier days and get the video of what he let his players do to Garrison Hurst at the end of one of those games. CLASSLESS !!!!!!!!!!!!! Urban  and Tebow, as well of the rest of the Gators, are the media darlings....No one will say a whole lot about this.

IMO, at least a 1 game suspension if not more.....

1/2 game suspension for one of the dirtiest plays you can make, I would press charges if I were Georgia. If you think about it it was after the play, his intent way to maim the other player, he could have caused permanent damage or loss of sight, ya a half game seems fair (at least in Urban's world)

Oregon suspended a player for the whole year for throwing a punch. Mike Golic on ESPN radio says this is the cheapest shot he has ever seen in football at any level. A half game suspension against powerhouse Vandy is absolutely ridiculous. Winning has replaced character as all important in society as a whole. Just take a look at some of the posts here when someone mentions cheating in this industry.  We have many so called fans here that would love to have a coach just like UF's here at UGA. Sad.

I'm not going to say anything that someone hasn't already said, but that kind of crap is inexcusable.  Football is meant to be played with the pads.

And this surprises you people? Many condone cheating and "do whatever it takes to win" and "if you aint cheating you aint trying"........
I guess some would say this urban guy was just "doing whatever it takes to win" and "trying everything, including cheating to win"

I would say he is a lowlife coward that doesn't think he can win by talent alone.

Season suspension including the bowl game would be a start on punishment.

first of all i dont think its right,i played football at the h.s level(wasnt very good) but the few times i got in to play and was in the pile, alot of things are discussed ,pulled on,pushed on and everything you could and could not imagine.your adrenalin and emotions can really amp you up.he got caught.does the punishment fit,i dont know.lawrence phillips did all kinds of outrageous things and continued to get chances.its pretty common for gifted atheletes to get free passes.and by the way ,the Golic brothers were not angels in there time.jmo, rusty

Not this UGA Grad - I wouldn't trade Mark Richt for him.
