I have a muddy problem.  Our winters are really cold and I have not been able to wash him yet, my problem is that he really really has alot of mud caked on him.  What is the best way to remove all the mud with ripping his hair out?  I have tried just soap and water, but it's not working really well.  Any suggestions?

Rinse him down, wait ten minutes or so and rinse him again, just keep doing that until it comes out. The caked on mud should soften up and rinse out.

Try a couple of things,  Wd40 do not wash it out for a while, if weather cool maybe 1/2 a day if warm hour or so,  It will break down tHe dirt ,  number 2 mix Downey fabric softener with windshield washer fluid,  in a fogged bottle,  maybe 1/8 cup of softener,  to qt fluid,  Let it sit al while and rinse,  It will break down the mud

We used some Final Bloom a while back (I think it's mostly mineral oil).  Smelled like a cow crapped in the potpourri when we got it soaked in, but it worked great.

any substance that has an oil in it. the ezall works pretty good, my grandfather always told us to use motor oil and a small paint brush, that is a little old school but it does work real well. wd40 works but it can dry out their skin.

I tried double dip and a little rag oil and just sprayed on.  It took a couple times but it came out and we are in West Central, MN and we have a deep well so have not been able to wash yet either.
