Every one take heed -- I know Brad -- met him years ago and he does a very good job, knows what he is talking about.

I watched this as well, and jus sat there and smiled as I knew hat he was discussing was happening all over this country. Assumption is what has killed a lot of semen, meaning that if it i still solid, you just assume it is OK, "" N O T ""

I look at alot of semen tat comes in here, but only the first straw from every cane -- no matter the bull. I see lots of different results from the same bulls, but not from the same canes.. Simply put, like Brad said, even though you have several delivered from several sources of the same bull -- they will almost always be different quality for the very reasons he mentioned.

Go to RFD and re-watch this every one, some of the examples are quite extreme, but the truth be known, THIS HAPPENS at alot of places and they never even knew they did it!!

Have your tank's accurate inventory in hand when you go to retrieve a unit of semen, do NOT clamp it up into the neck tube like some of the scenes showed , and never take the cane  out either -- good grief. If you are not comfrtable handling the canister and cane in one hand while you pull a unit of semen with the other, have some one help you -- it will pay huge rewards trust me on this.

I always cring when I get semen inhere for a flush and there are exactly 2 units on the cane, ad it has been re-written as well, in other words, some onep ulled two off the main cane and sent it here. Not a good deal.

Well there ya go -- go watch it again, and again until it really is second nature to evey one who breeds -- take nothing for grantid!

oh, im glad somebody else saw it!  i agree terry, anyone who handles semen or embryo's needs to watch it!
the "science" was very interesting!  when i used to have a tank, i was "guilty" of many of the no-no's they talked about!  ugh!  if i had only known!
