This morning I had a cow having a calf. When I went out to check there were two feet and a tongue. She needed help so we had to pull. Got it half way out, it got hiplocked and was like that for a half hour or so. There was never any of the slime that there normally is on the calf coming out. Finally got her turned and the cow finally layed down and she came out. Then following the calf, was a HUGE water bag, I have never seen anything like it in my life! Especially after the calf was already born. At first we thought it might be her uterus, but then it broke like a normal water bag. This seemed odd to me?!? Why did the water bag come after the calf? It weighed 148 pounds. Two weeks ago the cow didn't even look bred, I don't know how she had such a big calf in her.
