Water thaw or pocket thaw

How do you guys thaw semen? I haven't bred cows in many years but going to breed a few for a show steer for my son. Back in my dairy cow days I was taking out of tank quickly loading gun and getting inside cow as fast as possible usually under 60 seconds from tank to inside cow. Just wondering how most of you guys do it? Water bath or pocket thaw or what. Thanks in advance.

We water thaw. Usually hit 75 % or so year after year

Always water thaw @ 95 to 96 for @ least 45 seconds to 1 minute. Will rub the gun 5 or 6 times to prewarm it and stick the gun w the unused sheath inside my top shirt in my left arm pit to continue to warm.  Put the straw in the gun, put sheath on and put ready to go gun inside shirt in arm pit and move directly over to the cow and then get it in the cow as soon as I can to minimize any semen shock. 

Genex semen can be pocket thawed. We do it all the time. However, other semen is different.
