W/C Innocent Man
« on: February 17, 2017, 01:50:15 PM »
Had a beautiful heifer calf out of a CCF vision heifer I picked up this winter yesterday. I'm pretty excited for the future of her mother, but was interested in reports on Innocent Man females. How do they mature, what are their strengths and weaknesses, are they making decent mothers?

Hang in there with me as I'm not an expert in Simmental genetics.

I had read Innocent Man had a personal 90BW but was being reported as heifer safe, I was slightly concerned but the calf was adequate size at what'd I'd guess to be 75lbs and very vigorous.

I have an Innocent Man x Built Right heifer I purchased last May. She is a March of 2015 heifer and is due in April. She has a different look than what I'm usually attracted to, but I really dig her, and feel as though she has really turned it on here in the last 2 months and is turning into what I feel is a sweet looking cow. Here are some photos of her, from purchase date, late summer, and last weekend.

I should add, her disposition is phenomenal. She is a touch moderate for my liking but other than that I can't complain much.

Bellar Cattle Co. had a Lot 1 bred in their first sale on Breeders World this year that was an Innocent Man.  I think she originated with RS & T Simmentals in Missouri.  Bellar was really high on her and thought she would make a donor.

Innocent Man is definitely calving ease and the calves are vigorous at birth.  I would say they follow most Werning cattle, not monster framed but lots of shape and middle as well as really sound and good fronted.
