I like the looks of both of your calves, especially the Salty Dog. I don't know if you tried or not but loining him would have made for a better picture from what it looks like, but that's just me.

I have seen some nice Fed Ex calves, but he is not a heifer bull. I would watch her close when she gets ready to calve.

Fed ex is an asset son out of trump cow. I wouldn't have choose that as my number one calving ease choice. The one thing though it asset I have personally seen is he can throw some small ones. As Doc said I would keep close watch on her.

What's breeding on your female? Do you have a vet you trust? When is the heifer due?

Stone Springs Dazzler is her sire, with WHR Sonny 8114  as a Great grandsire on the sire and dams side.

It baffles me to know that someone would AI a heifer to SULL Fed Ex, much less SELL a heifer that is bred that way. /// YOU GOT THAT RIGHT-better be there when she calves-and Im afraid to ask how the hiefer is bred-cuz she has the Trump-Solution look about her O0
What the H!  Thats just criminal to breed a heifer that way!  And then to make it worse, sell her to a newcomer to the cattle business.  I gotta say, it pisses me off!  Hope she has a little heifer for ya pal.  I wish you all the luck in the world, you might need it to get that calf out vaginally!

All I can say is I hope the breeder is a newcomer to and just made a honest mistake on bad advice or no knowledge of pedigrees. Other wise that's exactly the thing that ruins a new customer on shorthorns. Don't feed her any grain!

the breeder doesnt know everything about breeding and i think he just had a straw that he needed to use because the herd bull is her sire

just curious,  how much does everyone think that i paid for my salty dog steer? or how much do you think youd sell him for?

Unless of course all the people recording calves are lying, you should be fine.  There is only 1 purebred calf, out of ~35, that's over 90+lbs.  The more im around shorthorns, the more I see our breed's problems are management related and not genetics.

The heifers due date was Sunday we had to give her a shot to induce her lastnight and she calved this morning around 7 am. Had to pull the calf but it wasn't a hard pull, the calf ended being around100 but haven't weighed it yet. Calving went fine but it took like 4 hours for it to get up and nurse, calf is up and fine now. Glad the heifer is perfectly fine too  (clapping) heres some pics of the calf

HEIFER, All white but tips of ears are red
