What else do you show?

We never got into showing swine, but I used to pretty big into sheep.  They don't require much work.  I didn't even start working with mine too much until a week before the show and could usually get it into gear.

What else have you shown or do you show? 

I showed Jerseys, sheep & took a pig that I won through the pig scramble!

My son shows swine, brahma's, quarter horses and goats when ever someone needs a warm body to hold one in the ring.  that's how I started making the goat leads which lead to the cattle halters.  Oh, yeah!  I almost forgot!  Poultry too! 

I showed my horses a couple of times.

We have a livestock showmanship show at my University's open house galla....the year I did it I decided to go into novice and tried my hand at dairy.  Now that was interesting.  So slow and backwards...literally. (lol)  And what in the world ever gave people the idea that wearing white around cattle was a good idea?

we girls always looked like something from a refugee camp! I can't believe how small & skinny the Jerseys were. Back then I thought they were the greatest thing on earth! I remember their yellow fat on the steers.

I showed sheep, pigs, and horses, besides the cattle i loved the sheep.

Another lesson about pigs, when they get out and you have a large pond and it is July 110degrees plus, go look for them on the pond banks.  That's where we found ours, completely covered in mud and  lying on the bank like a crocodile.  It was too funny!  Really it wasn't because they could have drowned but you should have seen them.  All you could see was white eyes and two muddy little ears sticking up. 

Well, I have been showing various animals in 4-H. So far, I have shown steers, breeding beef (heifers, cows, steer calves, and bull calves), breeding rabbits, horse (for both western show and speed events). This year I am also going to be showing two market lambs.

I also rodeo A BUNCH in NLBRA (National Little Britches Rodeo Association) and CJRA (Colorado Junior Rodeo Association). But steers and speed events for the horses are my specialty.

Great activites Colorado! I bet you are extremely busy!
