Haven't had any calves out of frisky but we are getting our first Jesse calves this year and I haven't seen one that I didn't like. Also all have been very low on the birth weight.

However make sure you get the 'right' angus. Had to pull a couple 'Right Answer' calves out of heifers, 85 pound calf cannot easily leave a heifer. They were wintered with my Show cattle producing females and these right answer calves- out of heifers -the Angus sired calves were bigger than the Rumor Mill calves or the Angus clean up bull calves. I would try to find a different bull/bloodline because these heifers were only 60-75 pounds at birth themselves.

I-67 is low birth weight.  I don't know if this is the best option but it would be interesting on paper. Lautner also says he has a more practical hind leg set.

Jesse James is a calving ease but he is awefully straight made in the photos. Might have a structure issue?

... A sure fire calving ease Angus. A personally like something with OCC Legend genetics.

I know some people do, but I wouldn't breed a son of I-80 to a daughter of I-80.

WS A Step Up (pb simmy) would be my choice... Dual registrable in most cases, out cross to the maines & clubby's, maternal, functional, and sell able.

I'd say Frisky Whiskey, but angus would be a smart decision. If you went angus Final Answer, Bushs Unbelievable, SAV Brilliance, Connealy Confidence or SAV Bismarck are all possibilities plus many more. One of the many great things about the angus breed JMO.

We bred to Bob Agle's bull Pulse two years ago and got an awesome heifer out of the deal.  He is a Total Solution x Meyer.  I am pretty sure Bob is still selling semen from him and still owns the bull, kind of surprised that he hasn't been used more.  He was on display at the 2012 Ohio Beef Expo. We will be using him again.  Using No Worries on some of them this year, but he is an I-80 son, his mother is a great looking cow.  No Worries is also available in sexed from Executive Sires for $125 a unit (2 mil).

Rodgers had a bull named Doc. Not sure what he costs, but we had a few out of him and he really clicked.

I'm thinking about breeding a couple to Gucci.

Also, thinking about breeding to the Angus Bull Regis.  He comes from a good cow family.

Definitely wouldn't consider a Simm. Heard lots of bad reports on here. Get your hands on son good sexed female Angus CE semen.

Why would you not use a SIMM that is double bred CE with a 67 lb bw himself and is proven... Especially back on a CE sired female?? One would think you'd be fine, just curious if there's been horror stories on A Step Up? Also trifecta would be my second suggestion nothing against angus either... They work great, live calves and great replacements.

I have a couple i80 heifers that I'm using Gucci on. Heard some good reports on him, kind of an unsung hero. If you'd like to keep them Maine and he throws fairly low bw (low 70's, 60's). JMO, good luck with breeding
