Congrats Jason.  Your creation has now topped the top ten of the cattle site industry.  Here is the blog describing this planet.

December 2007 Cattle Site Market Share Report
There wasn't much change in the rankings this month.  The usual shuffling of the 5-8 spots continued with EDJECattle slipping a bit more.  That's two months in a row now that EDJE has slipped.  While I thought last month might have been an anomaly, it looks like it's actually relevant.  I don't know about the actual traffic of any of these sites other than Cattle.com and Showcattle.com and both of the traffic changes in those sites were tracked accurately relative to previous months.

Steerplanet made its debut in the top ten ranking for the first time.  If you haven't visited their forum, I HIGHLY suggest it.  It's got tons of great feedback on show cattle in an environment where responsibility actually exists.  Just be prepared to be notified of the TH/PHA status of any bull you mention within ten seconds of posting.

CattleToday.com 37.2%
ShowSteers.com 11.9%
CattlePages.com 10.8%
Cattle.com 7.4%
Beefmagazine.com 6.8%
EDJECattle.com 6.3%
Showcattle.com 5.1%
ClubCalves.com 3.8%
SteerPlanet.com 2.3%
Thestockarena.com 2.2%

Zach, I hate to burst your bubble but what he's saying is tongue in check. Not sure it's really a positive comment but more a warning of what you'll get.

Thanks Jeff at www.cattle.com for the mention. We couldn't have done it without all of you & the admin guys!

I also want to put a plug in for Jeff & www.cattle.com
Jeff does an outstanding job on videos & information on the bulls at Denver. I think he also deserves a big hand when he posts those!  (clapping) (clapping) I know I'm not the only one that looks forward to them.

I know a few of you might find this hard to believe, but there are MANY people out there that actually appreciate and value DL's opinion and information about carrier/non-carrier bulls.
So thumbs up DL!! Keep up the good work!! (clapping) (clapping)

I thought about this before I responded again. Yes, there has been good work done here. No doubt about that but we are not a one topic board. I get concerned when people tell me that they don't post a picture of a carrier heifer or advertize one because they know they'll get comments. We want to be able to educate but not ram it down any one's throat. I think it is all in delivery & tone. I think the board is more than the admin guys ever dreamed it would be!

just say it's a carrier, beat them to the punch, nixon (the president)  paid the price for doing it the wrong way.  same with clinton, bonds etc.  just be up front.  no big deal.  it's that guessing game that's annoying.  i still feel they have merit, and since there is variability within the gene, perhaps they have an alternative allele that is important without the PHA, even if it's a silent mutation, we don't know anything about these.  there are only a couple of papers about them, and they are interesting.

This is one of the more frequently updated boards in regards to show cattle. Many of the good posters have found their way to this board. Some of the other boards have too much technical trouble or they have it where you have to wait to register and then you can post. I was a showsteers.com fan but lately the board has been slow and many questions are left unanswered due to low volume. Keep up the good work here. (clapping)
