This may be a stupid question, but is there a ringworm injection or vaccine?

Is it true that once a calf gets ringworm, he or she will never get it again?

Ringworm is a fungus, same as athletes foot.  So yes they will get it again if the conditions are right, exposure, etc.  The best product we've ever used is Stop N Grow by Vittetoe. http://www.vittetoe.com/showstopper/showfeedadd.htm   Scroll down the page and you'll find it.  If you call them they will give you the cattle dose.  Weve used it through the winter months as a preventative and never got ringworm.  Works to clear it up too, spray the spots with fluid film and feed the stop N grow.

I think I am finally getting our ringworm under control.  I have been feeding the iodine granules that I got from my vet mixed in salt and adding that to our feed.  I also have been spraying the spots every few days with 7% iodine.  It seems to be heeling up.  From what I have been told that most cattle will not get ringworm again once they have had it and I have found a vaccine for it but it is available in Canada only.

We've been dealing with ringworm here for a few months now.  Tried just about everything under the sun, but I think it's finally clearing up.
We have 3 steers in our barn and they've all had it.  Thought we were just about through with it, and last night while clipping, we found a new spot on the first steer that had it and thought was healed.  It never ends  ???  I can wait for the weather to warm up enough that we can get all the cattle outside and disinfect the barns.
A wise young man once told me....."It doesn't matter what your trailer looks like.  It's what comes off your trailer that counts."

Was able to check wiith my guy at the mill today. He told me he could get it when it was available. He believed the FDA shut down production on it. Didn't know if it was temporary or permanant
