I'll second that for sure. Also something to consider might be a deep red pedigreed bull to get those quality 1/2 Shorty black replacements. It sure has worked for me.

Vegas has worked on Stockman 365 daughters, but no known proof of any other bloodines. You would get mostly blue roans. Dean Kephart and others in the southwest always used Double Vision. He bought an interest in Buddy Love.[Sonny/DV-Cunia/Draftpick thc] Full brother,[Free for All....TH and PHA free] should be decent choices...Interesting,let us know what you decide.

You mean you don't know if he'd work on other Angus bloodlines? For real?  I've seen Vegas out of lots of different Angus cows that were definitely not Stockman, or even Northern Improvement and it still works.

Notorious has done pretty well when you cross him too.

OFS is right, Vegas is pretty tought to beat for clubbies. I am by no means a clubby guy but I thought  Phildon JBS Fringe would make a cool flush. I have bred shorthorn to black and red angus for 4 years and I love the calves.

With that breeding there would be only one choice - Vegas. I think that 365 cow of Sullivan's goes back to Oscar.

I know that it seems like everyone is thinking Vegas but I think take a look @ some calves out of Absolut of Stream's maybe give Sue a call about'em Chris. I think that he looks like he would add power and the calves would be moderate frame size. The bull looks like he is made right. I like the fact that he  is clean also. JMO.

We have never pictured hazel. She is a 11 year old cow and I don't think she would take a picture that could do her justice. Hazel is an awsome milk producer, and we can see that in our Headliner females.

Justin I have not seen any yet. I have been watching the bull since he 1st came on the seen. He didn't freeze early enough that first season to get calves out there which hurts a new one. Sue called me when the first calves started coming and asked me to come and look, but I have never made it over there to see them.  I like the looks, but need to go take a look sometime when I have time.
Have you gotten any calves out of your new sire? What did you name him?

Would you be interested in using this guy. His mother is as pure of a breeder as they come, and he is built like a truck.

We will have semen for sale on him in 30 days, and he would make a perfect cross. This shot was taken at 5months old, and we are getting set to take his marketing photo in the next 30 days.
