She is a Mossy Oak heifer due to have her first calf 3/24 to Copyright. What should I breed her back to? I was thinking Sunseeker.

One of my buddies told me that Sunseeker works best on real sound, zipper fronted cows.   I wouldn't want our Sunseeker calf to be any straighter than he is & that calf's dam is a super sound cow.  I think that Sunseeker would work on your heifer with the exception being that she may be too straight in the front end for Sunseeker.   But, it's hard to tell from a picture, especially with her standing in the straw.  Also, Sunseeker is a TH carrier, so you would need to make sure that heifer is clean.

I would think about Dr Who.

I agree with you on her being a little too straight. We just got her from sidwells in Colorado. There's a video of her on their website. Go to sidwellhayandcattle.com. Then bred heifers and she's lot 28.

I looked at her in person a couple of times at sidwells. she is a lil bit stright but thats a mossy oak thing. Dr who would be good or something with some angus in them like monopoly or bleeding purple. I had a really good calf this year out Ali out of a mossy heifer. I kept it for a replacement heifer.

I had a good friend that had a great Mossy Oak cow and he used the Heat Seeker bloodlines on her.  I suspect that's still what he does with her.

I agree with kk.  Monopoly or his brother Headliner could be cool!  If she has enough power and thickness something like Lutton or a Meyer son might give you an interesting heifer!  She looks like she'd be fun to play with.  Good luck.

What about All Aboard?

If I recall correctly, I think that Monopoly & All Aboard are full sibs.  All Aboard is clean, but Monopoly is a TH carrier.

Monopoly, All Aboard, and The Headliner are all full sibs.  I believe All Aboard is the only one of them that is TH clean.  I haven't seen any All Aboard calves yet but if they look like the Monopoly's and Headliner's they should be good.

That's what I was thinking.  Thanks for clarifying.  One thing that has me puzzled is that you don't hear much about All Aboard calves, but you hear a lot about Monopoly.  Maybe because of the TH look... IDK.

I'm guessing that's because Monopoly was promoted quite a bit more.  Lautners seemed to have Monopoly's picture everywhere and now I see there are a few winners starting to show up out of Monopoly.  I'm not sure if All Aboard was promoted at all.  I sure don't remember him but he looks good in his picture (but don't they all?)...haha.

From what I have seen, Heat Seekers usually do well on Flush lines. The tempermant at times can be challenging.
If it was me, I would try the orginial, Heat Seeker.
If you are shooting for a female, we used Northern Improvement and had great calves. We have never had luck with Dr. Who. About time might also work for you. JMO

Monopoly is a bull I want to try out so I might go with him. The champion steer and heifer at the Kansas Beef Expo was out of him. I need to see if she's TH/PHA free.

just to be different, one of the K&A bulls, powerplant, magic, etc.  it's harder to make them bigger.  maybe she is bigger, as i haven't seen the supposedly better bigger volumed cows who look smaller but aren't.
