What should I breed my Shorthorn cow too?

I have a Shorthorn Cow, and also a Shorthorn Plus cow. I will need to be breeding them soon with an AI sire, and I am looking for some help on deciding which bull to use. It will be their 2nd time being bred for both of them, and they are both in good condition, especially the shorthorn plus. The shorthorn plus is black, and the shorthorn is red, with some white on her stomach. I want to breed the Shorthorn to a club calf or a purebred shorthorn bull,  preferably get a black and white calf out of her (if that's possible). For the Shorthorn Plus, I would prefer breeding her to a purebred shorthorn bull to get a black and white, or blue roan calf, or I would breed her to a club calf if it was a pretty good bull. Please let me know any suggestions on what to breed them to. Thank You! I have also attached a picture of each one... even though they aren't the best.

Ghost Rider (shorthorn) to the black one. If the purebred is th Free I'd bred her to Safe N Sound. If she's a carrier I'd bred her to Grizzly Bear

I would breed them back to a calving ease Shorthorn bull. The second calf can also be difficult for cows if they aren't bred to the right bulls. I wouldn't try to go all out on the second calf or you might get burnt.

And also yes I'll definately breed the black one to ghost rider... That is exactly what we wanted to breed her to (a white shorthorn bull)

I would look at KOLT Kane Nitro. Solid white bull. Schrags top selling plus heifer(blue roan) this year was by him and she was pretty good. Strope's had a steer by him that did some winning.

Bw- 84 lbs

Pictured is a hfr by Mercedes Benz , but out of a roan cow. We had a steer with a little more white out of a dark roan by MB. Out of a red one I usually get some white on the belly.

I like Mercedes Benz, but I saw that someone said they used him on a 2nd calf cow, and the cow died. Have you used him on 2nd calf cows?

Would the red white & roan bull work on the red heifer? Or is he too heavy/ too big?

Mark,
What's the reg# on the roan bull and where can we get semen on him? Do you think that bull could compliment these heifers?

Thanks, DHS

Just getting back on here, but Benz is my go to virgin heifer bull if I want to go Maine on a white or roan heifer. To date (knock on wood) we haven't touched one yet. I have been very pleased with his calving ease. IMO , I like him better than virgin heifers than I-80. My experience , I-80 can throw a little stouter calf out of a virgin than MB.
