OK, so I have been in 4-H for four years now and have done pigs for all four years. This is my first year selling a market steer and i do not know what i need to purchase as far as grooming products and so on. Your help would be greatly advised and THANK YOU in advance!  :) ;)

(Also if you can include where you have gotten the products, I prefer to shop on line.) :)

If you just have one head you can probably get from Sullivan Supply ... 1 can of prime time adhesive, 1 can of tail adhesive, 1 can of pink oil and just makes sure you bring your other supplies with you like your blower, hose for washing, brushes, combs, feed pan, feed, hay, soap for washing and if your going to use a chute to fit. A bucket to water and a pitch fork to clean your stall. Clippers in case you need to do some clipping while there. Hope this helps.

I guess I should have asked if your fair is a fit fair or blow and go? Can you use paint? Check your rules for your fair. Each one is different I know.

Obie has some great advice. Since this is your first year I would talk to some other members of your 4h club that show beef and have them help you out this year. They can walk you through the grooming process and such. Don't feel obligated to go drop thousands of dollars on chutes and blowers and other things you may not have till your certain you want to continue in the beef project. A lot of those items aren't truly needed but defiantly speed the grooming process up. Think about the things you use for daily care at home you will need most of those items at the fair such as the feed pan and buckets, pitch forks, broom. The best advice I can offer you into ask for help from a fellow family. In my past experience here in Minnesota most are more than willing to help someone out that wants to learn. We purchase most grooming supplies from Sullivan supply or enasco both are online.
