Ready to learn something with this...

Let's hear your thoughts on him as well.

ETA: He's 6-7 months old in this picture, have to think about it.

Do you keep everything a herd bull?

Just answer the question...  and if you don't mind- state your name and location- so if at a later date I could get ahold of you.

stalking will get you banned.

bull looks better than the triangle bull.  plus he doesn't have socks.

it's not clear from your posts you are ready to learn anything.

probably the best thing to learn is to eliminate strawman arguments and to be a little friendlier.  in fact, it's probably the biggest thing you have to learn. learn that and the rest will follow.

Thanks knabe, I knew I could count on you to say something honest...

As long, as I don't get banned before this poll expires, I'll let them ban me, and I won't be back.

If you don't want to be here anyway then leave!

Why do I get the feeling that any psychologist would have a hayday with you?

Not sure if it's just the picture or not. His head seems out of proportion to his body. It's to big. I'd like to see more guts on him to. Looks like he has a big ass.  You know me man, I'm not out to get you but with all the different bull pictures folks could assume youre breeding 100 cows. I'm having trouble keeping them straight. Is this redline as a calf? A son?

He looks to have the bone, width, and  a bully look to him but that is where it ends for me. He looks to be  a little strait on the front, tight in the heart girth and is tubular in design.  He needs more body for me, I would have to say cut him.

I would say yes, RL as a calf. Looks like he has a little hip to him like RL does and has that same orangey color.

He's pre-potent Doc- here's three more red, orangey calves that have some hip shape-- just have a little more hair to cover it up...

See, I don't see the hip in these others, especially the 1st one. The biggest negative for me is the orange color. Everybody I know with cattle that color are breeding them to roans to try to get rid of it.

They may have a level hip, but not a "hip".

You mean a "hip" like this?  Hell, I'll just have to sort through more calf pictures- he stamps them.

That's the stoutest hip you have posted, and it's only average.

That calf was shown twice last summer- once at a county fair by a Mizzu kid-- who said that was the thickest calf he'd ever seen at that stage of life- then at state fair where the same claim was made.  I suggest you finding out the names of those judges and asking them if this calf has any hip...

Your ignorance is beaming...  Keep posting.

I could care less. Won't change my opinion on it. Besides, when did you start getting into the show ring? I thought those cattle were evil?

I will give you my honest opinion... This calf is long from end to end, big, stout boned, strong over his top line while displaying some excellent slope hooks to pins.  HOWEVER, he wants to turn in on his toe on his back right foot (could also be the way he is standing).  When you get back and really look at this side profile he seems to be a little hard sided, not to mention he gets pinched in his for-rib, maybe just a little  straight in that back hock. Looking past the hair that is pulled down in his flank, I would like to see him dropped down more.  For me has does not have enough belly at all.  When I look at a bull I want them to be big boned, soggy in the middle, deep flanked, a little more set to the hock than this guy has, cleaner through that front 1/3 on his brisket.  The are just my opinions, knock them down however you want to but I am not changing them.  You asked for honest, well here you go.  Also, if I have a calf that I am questioning whether or not to keep him a bull I usually end up cutting him.  I think if you look at your own cattle everyday and you see one that screams bull then keep don't cut him.  Now that said, everyone looks at cattle a different way.  All that matters is what you think this bull could do for your herd.  IF you end up selling semen on him then, yes, you should seek other opinions.
