I just had a Capiche heifer about three weeks ago she was unassisted out of a first calf heifer and had a 94 bw.

Two completely different bulls in which I prefer Capiche. Capiche is more of a real world type Shorthorn that can also have fancy calves. Low birthweight, calving ease, good carcass traits and growth. Gus offspring are going to be larger at birth and at maturity. Good looking calves but not as easy fleshing as Capiche. Breed your heifers to Capiche before Gus and then try Gus on like the second or third time calving if you want. If you want to make replacement heifers I would recommend a lot of Shorthorn bulls before either one of those...

What are your choices than? I wondered if Gus calves would be easy doing or not I'm looking for easy doing deep soggy type calves that still have style what do you think of talladega?

I think both bulls have attributes but for different cows. I used GUs on a mature cow. He will bring some size to the game. The cow was very moderate and I am happy with the heifer she had. Moderate easy fleshing and structurally correct. I have Jazz herd sire. He does not give you any frame and is consistent for calving ease. His calves are also easy fleshing. Just depends on what you want to gain.

What is the cow you are using the bulls on?

They are Canadian cows ones a major Leroy the other is a shady brook Scotty the Leroy has lots of size, the Scotty is not quite as big but would be 1600 pounds.

The heifer in my profile picture is a TM Gus x leader 21st daughter. She wasn't tiny when she was born but she has done a great job growing. There are plenty of Canadian folks on here you should be able to get some pretty quick responses to those bloodlines. I like the Jazz blood line. For some reason he is polarizing in the shorthorn breed. Either you like him or you don't. I can think of a few others if you want to reduce mature frame size on those females.
Gizmo will make great females- nice small udder adds rib and will not increase size. You are wanting show prospects?

Yes I seen her in the Ohio sale book she looks like a nice female, I'm looking for American bloodlines to cross onto these cattle  I bought them from a dispersal best 2 cows in the group, I have an angus herd and wanting to doable in the shorts, imwanting show calves but at the end of the day they have to make brood cows that are easy fleshy deep ribbed stout and have meat, do you know anything about talledga.

Thank you for the compliment.
I have used some similar blood lines to Talladega and did not have the expected results from those bloodlines. I have had success with WHR Sonny. I would say tomorrow the folks that know those bloodlines better might respond. He (Talladega) was a stout bull when I saw him sell at the dispersal. Alot of those cattle had some size to them and were bigger framed. If you want a reduced mature frame size I am not sure that Talladega will do that.
