I have a shorthorn whose hair is white for the most part.We rinse him everyday twice a day when we can, use bright lights once a week and conditioner twice a week or more. We have been doing it for about a month and his hair still has a dirty look to it in some spots. Is there anything more we can be doing to whiten it?

Try Matrix Essentials "So Silver" shampoo for people. It's what the hair expert Kim Anwender (The Hilltops) uses and her whites are WHITE and bright!

We just used Joy dish soap mixed with a couple drops of Mrs. Smiths bluing on our all white shorthorn steers.  Don't use too much bluing or will turn them blue.

Another product that helps is, Cowboy Magic Green Spot Remover. It's found in tack stores, Fleet Farm etc........
It really help bust up the stains.

Whe've had white shorthorns for years now. Never could find Mrs. Smith's where we live. I use Dreft baby detergent. It works pretty good on the yellow spots.
