ME  ;D

Been way too busy and my taxes are complicated.

My CPA has my taxes. I have requested an extension for the last three years. I just hope I don't owe anything.

I do my own.  I usually do them in February.  I found out once I started doing them myself that I get bigger refunds...

Mine are way too complicated for me to do myself. My tax accountant showed me the tax changes that come each year and it was a pile of paper close to a foot in height. Of course, not all of these pertain to my income tax, but some would. I just have to get my stuff in order to take it in to the accountant, and that just about drives me buggy. I am at a point in my life where my loans are the down hill slope, so most of what I pay each year is principal rather than just interest. That is a good thing in that it means the loans will be paid off soon..... but it is also a very bad thing as it means I have no more money in my pocket than previous years, but I pay way more in tax. Interest expense is totally deductible, while principal payments are not.  Last year I kept two families on welfare, and not one person showed up to help me for even one day... nor did anyone even say a simple thank you! Of all the things I do in the year, paying my income tax hurts me the most. I guess it hurts me so much simply because I realize how much work it takes for me to make a dollar... and I also see how ridiculous the government spends money sometimes.

I don't understand why it is illegal to not file your income tax. Is it actually a crime to steal from thieves ???

Ours are fairly simple really --at least the way I do them.

We runa cash in -- cash out basis. As I write cjhecks to pay the bills -- I cirle the ones in the check book that were business related -- ie -- Feed, Drugs, Lab supplies, Farm supplies, fuel for the business truck and so one. All personal stuff is not circled during the year like Wallmart grocery etc.

At the end of the year -- I go thru and add up the different categories to get the gross income, minus the gross expenses -- to achieve the SMALL net. After that -- the tax pady says OK -- you have these auto deuctions for depreciation -- and personal (Kids and us) .

Haven't had to pay IN for 30 years after itis all said and done, other than the self employement tax and medicare taken off the -- usually get something back at the end every year -- been geting smaller and amaller though every year -- kids are all but gone now, only one left to claim.

Time to start buying more cows to write off I guess, there goes the feed bill!! hehehe

Oh well, the Government will find a new way to take the rest we make as always, kind of like getting up the 1st of April and seeing how they secvretly added 70 some cents a pack to those who smoke. That is one more thing we will quit doing this year -- besides enjoying our FREEDOM ??
