Who made who steers?

Is there any market for a who made who steer calf? Planning on breeding him to some purebred Charolais stuff for females but I know there will be some males in the crew and was wondering are those steers salvageable at all or is it a total loss? I've read around and done some homework on the topic and he fell off the face of the earth fast... What's who made who do with hair? And if the cow is stout (like the alias picture cow) and sound can he make atleast a county level type calf with modern selection and show ring trends? Or is he a "cow prospect or miss" bull these days

I don't know for sure, but I did kind of the same thing. I flushed a white Eskimo Joe daughter to him last year. Haven't put in any of the eggs yet, tho. Sure hoping for some females.

Don't know if it is still true or not but Who Made Who sired the most State Fair Champion steers ever! He was considered a terminal sire for the longest time. There were so many cows bred to him that there had to be some good heifers in there. All of a sudden he was a bull that produced great cows. When WMW was really hot I talked to a breeder that told me he wouldn't breed any of his cattle to WMW cause they were all a bunch of lame, poor doing cattle. Same breeder told me a few years later that WMW was one of the best bulls to use for making great females! Sounds like great marketing to me. IMO Who is definitely one of the greatest club calf bulls of all time. Nice thing about him is you can breed him to heifers and get along just fine.

WMW was one of the first bulls that transmitted lots of hair and was TH free.He downsized bigger framed cows and put a front end like no other.If bred to cows that were too straight the offspring carried same traits.Some of the top bulls and donors show him in their pedigree.Probably one of the easiest calving bulls Phil and Duane ever promoted.Would probably be close to 12/15 years old or more and still gets used that's pretty amazing in this business.

At this point in time, I think he would be best used as a female maker and probably would not be competitive enough for the steer market. IMO, works best on ugly, sound, functional cows with good maternal. Cowpoke is correct about downsizing the big ones and adding pretty long fronts. He's usually part of a good recipe in conjunction with Meyers and other Simmi's.. Dr. Who is one of his best sons. He does work on Charolais influenced cattle as well. Make sure the cow has good angles. He does not work on every cow.

48 dollars per straw the other night

A WMH steer was Ch Angus steer at FW 5 or 6 years ago.

Got some of the original bull if someone needs some ....

Son of WMW  that we call WHO SAID that is 18 mo. old out of WYO-WIND cow .....
