I'm already kind of on the hunt for an angus steer for next year. My middle daughter is just kind of getting into the showing deal and and an angus steer would be perfect for her. not a lot of competition in Iowa here and a lot of point and angus shows thru out the summer. Looking for something that is going to be at the top. Thanks ahead of time for all info

I don't know anything about show rules (papers, sift procedures, etc) in Iowa, but unless they are real serious about proof of being purebred (papers and such - and probably not even then), if you really want at the top you need an "Angus" not an Angus. ;)  Just in case you haven't seriously looked into how it works.

I tend to see their kids showing purchased animals more then their own, maybe that's just me though.

In Iowa it has to be purebred. Anything fishy "WILL" get blood tested. I know Joel brooks been to his place a couple time. The thing it's seems to be in Illinois is that everything is a little higher because of the Land of Lincoln deal people willing to spend more when you have that chance to make 20k + at state fair! I have know problem spending some money on a good one but have to realistic on the market in Iowa

Cardnial cattle co. Talk to jeff and he will hook you up. I was there last week and he was bragging about his angus calves on the ground. He raised the Ohio state champion angus from this past years state fair and that same family came back again. He is under the radar for a true angus steer prospect compared to Brooks. I know, I bought the steer from Brooks this past sale, I paid dearly for him. Caldwell then bought him from me. Good luck hunting

How is this for a purebred Angus?  Pictured at 45 days old...out of our BullsEye herd bull.  Several half brothers to him as well that look nice!  ;D

Thanks for all the suggestions I have starting contacting some of these people! One thing I must say I am looking for one that is dog gentle. My daughter loves being in the barn but still very hesitant on leading one around! Thanks again

Paradise Cattle Company's cattle all have great dispositions, I mean people are always around them, including their daughters. Their cattle are super competitive at the county fairs, state fairs, Ohio Beef Expo, and so many more!

A second for Jeff at Cardinal Cattle Co. Describes cattle on the phone as he see's them. Not afraid to buy a great bull to enhance the herd. Quality Angus, Chi's, and Simmental. First class outfit.

We have raised some winning Angus steers in the past including one to Kansas.  We usually have several that don't make it as a bull or you can pick one ahead of time.  Have several nice candiates for this year already out of Concensus, OReillyFactor, Pit Boss and First Impression.  Next year will have some out of First Class, Concensus, Blue Chip, Classen, First Impression.  You just need to come and look and "yes" they are PB Angus with papers.  Wouldn't figure out how to make them "angus" because they were to start with!
