I went....believe I heard they had 230+ head.  They were expecting 500 or so it what we were told-so they were way down in numbers.  Some good quality cattle there on the top ends...the AOB was champ and Maine reserve judged by Paul Maulbsy(spelling).

Yeah-it was still a pretty solid show regardless of numbers.  There were some nice Americans....the Brangus was grand american and the Gert was reserve.....both owned by the same little boy (I believe last name was Poe-maybe wrong though).  They were stout and pretty dang good...I'd love to own them.  The AOB was shown by Cuatro Schauer (spelling) and the Maine was show by Baines (spelling).

@ herf4ever-if you are the calf I am thinking of....you have a pretty nice looking hereford steer.
I will say this-Maulsby did use muscle, but not the excessivly muscled calves.  Another thing I was interested in, and he stuck true, was he used structurely correct animals all day.  If there were any structure issues you were lowered a place or two.  There were a handful of classes that were filled with with structurally incorrect cattle from 1st thru last and he placed them accordingly.

We decided to sit this one out and give the calves some rest.  You can bet that Maulsby is gonna take structure/soundness over power any day of the week. Kevin, I heard the Brangus breed was pretty tough.  A pretty good Brangus from our county went up and stood third in their class.  Mr. Poe is always gonna have some of the best Americans when he rolls into a show and the Hardcastle's are no slouch themselves.  That steer that Cautro has is the real deal.  He won the show in New Braunsfels as well but I didn't see how he did at the BBB.  We will be in Gonzales this coming weekend and in Refugio the week after that.

That yellow calf is pretty dang nice I might add <rock>.  I am not 100% sure-but I don't think Cuatro went to BBB with the yellow calf.  See y'all in Gonzales on Saturday folks.
