IMO if you're wanting to buy it & keep it for use as feed later, you'd be better off buying whole corn. 2 tons divided by 25lbs per day for one calf gives you 160 days worth of corn. As soon as you crack the kernel it loses it's natural protection and is exposed more so to molds especially. As to which is better for feeding most cases would be cracked, but there are arguments for feeding whole shell corn, but the cattle are usually on full feed of corn when this scenario works best.
