I am interested in Wise's American Idol but I can't find a picture. Does anyone have one?

There are several bulls named American Idol. With Draft Pick not that far back, how does Walks Alone make them moderate. I'm just genuinely asking since this thread is about moderate thick bulls

Well he's like a great grand son of draft pick, Most any bull is going to have a large ancestor that far back I wouldn't say he follows that frame type he's the bull that comes to mind when I think of stout and downsizing a calf frame- that would make the resulting calf a great great grand son or daughter of draft pick

To put that in a different context it's like wondering why a 1/8 blood brahman has the potential to show no brahman character and classes out

Or why the resulting 1/16 bloods wouldn't retain the breed character of the original

It's getting watered down and then some at that point

OK makes sense. Looking at the pedigree on the America Idol bull, he ought to make some thick ones.

If you go to the pulse from the tx majors and see how many breeds he won its pretty surprising

Id say the ratio on him of usage:backdrop quality calf is as high as any out there

We didn't have any luck with Walks Alone temperament. They were some of the strongest willed cattle we've worked with. They weren't mean necessarily as they were extremely smart animals that were temperamental.

Have seen several Jimmy the Greek calves. They looked awesome as calves and as they grew out they never got very big. He threw major hair and some bone.

I saw and worked on one of the best in my opinion one of the best fat steer Walks Alone's this weekend as far as structure, shoulder and temperament. Big hipped, stout at the ground and up top. Maybe not the most moderate calf but stI'll a great one.
