Looking at a couple of heifers to raise and breed. Both are excellent individuals. Curous of those that have used these bloodlines for cows. One is by Carnac and the other Sunseeker. Both are out of very high quality Reg. Angus cows. Thoughts please?

Im not sure about carnac cows, but sunseeker can make some nice females. Bloodlines aside, i like my heifers to be very soft and have a little extra skin in the brisket. I call it a maternal front end. The show heifers tend to be a little hard doing for my liking, i like em with more fleshing ability, and from my experience, those zipper fronted  ones dont pan out.

I think that being 1/2 Angus will help and they should be just fine. Be careful with the bull you use for their first calves. Hate to see some of the clubby come through and blow up the birth weights on you.

They are off the same farm, both out of good milking Reg angus cows. Neither are whistle fronted. Both show a lot of maternal. I picked them out because they both look like little cows. The grandkids will show them in 4-H and we will breed them very safely. Ali or Shiver seems to be the trick. Neither heifer wll mature much over 52", yet they're long spined and correct.
Please keep the thoughts coming.

Thanks!
