Winning weights
« on: July 06, 2013, 02:53:19 PM »
Just curious as to what weights are winning the steer shows? We had a 4-h meeting last week and everyone that's been showing longer than my two years said its 1300 or so. Kind of curious what the averages are across the states, both county fairs and state fairs? Thanks!

1335 is kind of the magic number for the big shows. But those county fairs and smaller shows it can range so much I've seen calves win from 1200 all the way to 1400. Just depends on the competition and the judge

Ideal show steer 1330.  Ideal packing house steer 1450.
