That county - was it Anderson??  did a good job listing all the shows..  pig, sheep, cattle, horse, dog, but I can't find it either.  Seems like it was lost when extension revamped their website.

On the subject of Kansas shows, what is everyones take on the majority of these spring shows going to either no fit or only the kids can fit? Maybe it's just me but I think it is ridiculous, I know that state fair and Wichita are both this way and I feel the same way about them. How are kids supposed to learn when they either can't fit or have someone who knows what they are doing helping them. I am a former Kansas 4-her that sells a few calves every year and always try and help our customers learn to due things the correct way and with these rues it is nearly impossible. I learned how to fit by doing it at smaller shows one that with help from someone who was very good. I got good enough to put myself through college doing it and now with Kansas dumb rules kids won't have the same opportunity. Sorry about the rant but just saw the rules for 2 spring shows we are going to have cattle at and it got me a little fired up!

I can live with fitting either way but I hear what you are saying. I am not a fitter but have two kids of my own and some around that are really interested in getting good at it. The whole no fit idea makes it hard for them to learn. I hate going from one set of rules to another. It seems to me that fads come and go and we are swinging toward no fit and we will be back.

Did they change the rules on some shows? If so, which ones?

What I've never understood is that these spring shows have been mostly full fit and then the biggies in the fall are not.  Crazy deal...

Every show has a set of rules. Most allow fitting but not all. The shows that are either 4-H or FFA associated seem to be going toward the no fit.
