We all have lost a wonderful lady. My thoughts and prayers are with Mark and all the family members. She was always a voice of reason and thoughfulness. She will be missed by everyone... including us who never met her in person. I got to know Red from the inside out and I saw a wonderful lady. This is very sad news.......

Adding my thoughts and prayers to the family. Red will now be running and dancing in the presence of her Lord, no longer having having to live within the limitations of her mortal body. I am sure she will be missed greatly be those who knew her personally as well as those who have gotten the chance to know her here on the planet.

Like someone else, I read this and my heart just fell thru the floor.  I can honestly say that I feel honored to have gotten to know Cathy.   Your family is in my thoughts & prayers at this time.  I have so much more to say but I just can't get it into words at teh moment.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with Mark and Cathy's immediate family along with all of her Steer Planet family. She was always here for us with a calm resolve. I regret that I never had the chance to meet her in person to give her a big hug and tell her what a strength that she has been for us and many others. She'll have to get her hug later. Condolences from Brent & Joni and our family

Oh Cathy -- I can't be reading this -- not now -- just when you were getting soo much better.

As most every one knows, I am usually full of gas -- but I am lost -- I have no words.

I will cherish the days we worked together to get the donated flush drawing put together, you and Woody -- I remember all the calls we had talking of sick calves and what you thought I would do -- oh dear God in heaven -- take care of our lady -- she is special!

With tears and prayers for Mark and family -- I am without words -- good bye friend, we love you!

Like others on the Planet, I had never met Cathy. In fact for the first week or so I just assumed "Red" was a man!  Her voice of reason and calm was very much appreciated here and her passing is shocking news. I was just thinking the other day about how I have never been to the U.S. and a trip down would have to include stops at farms like Red Maple Maines.

My condolences to the Billenstein family. (angel)

As others have already expressed, I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Cathy's passing.

It's about two years ago now since Cathy first contacted me regarding Steer Planet.  Since that time, she and I have exchanged a few short emails, and Steer Planet has become even more of a "must read".  I think many of us consider this site to be one of the best cattle forums on the internet, and Cathy has certainly played a big role in helping that to happen.

We will all miss Cathy's optimism, encouragement, and contributions to Steer Planet.

My sincerest sympathy to her family in your time of loss.

While I never got to meet her personally, I considered "Red" a true friend. MY thoughts and prayers to the family.  Shocked RW

One of the reasons I kept up the alien gag was that Red sent me email after email telling it made her smile and laugh. I got to meet her in KC last summer and it was like we had been friends forever.

Cathy your are missed already. I will eat some fried chicken embryos and drink a beer to your memory. <alien>

Prayers to all her family.

God's speed Cathy. (angel)

I was just at Cathy's farm a couple saturdays ago. She was so excited about the new calves. We had such a good talk. Cathy said she felt the best she had in quiet sometime.I looked for her today at the Expo because I told her I would be stopping by. I didn't see her. I read this and had to read it twice. My heart is heavy. Bless her and the only peice of mind is she knew God and is in a much better place than we are. My condolensces go out to Mark and her family . This is so unexpected and I am stil a little shocked.

I will not deny that Red and I had our differences, but she  had a love for helping people. My prayers go out to her family and friends.

Yesterday, I saw our dear friend Cathy.  I gave her a hug, chatted about  cattle and showed her pictures of her two week old  "grand calf" out of a Cherry Bomb heifer I bought from her.  I was so happy to see her out and about doing something she loved.  I said "I will see you tommorrow before I leave...."  Of course, now I understand why I couldn't find her.  We don't always get  tomorrow so take a moment to keep Mark and the family in your prayers and hug someone you love.

Wow I can't believe this!  I just found out who Red was, as some of the other people from Steerplanet, on Friday at the OBE.  Brad Hook pointed her out to us.  So Sorry to the rest of the steerplanet community and to the family.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.   (angel)
