I am new to the shorthorn and cattle industry (this will be my third year) and have a bull calf that was born in the middle of June and I am not sure if i should steer him or keep him as a bull prospect. I would really like some different peoples opinions, the people in my area are not to helpful. He is a Sin City calf out of a K-KIM Oketo daughter and was 89 lbs and born unassisted. Hopefully the pictures of him comes up if not I will try again

Sounds like a good bloodline... My opinion would be to wait until you see how he's growing and if he starts bulking up, KEEP AS A BULL!! We had a Cherry Bomb X Shorthorn Cow steer that was totally awesome..won grand champions all over our area.  ONLY problem we had with him was that we wished we would have kept him as a bull.  It's a hard decision, but give him a while to see how he pans out.

Theres a picture of him up in the Big Show Forum if your interested to see what he looks like because the picture isn't showing up here in this forum I accidentally posted here in the help section. Ya my plans are to see how he fills out when hes eating feed good and I start working with him a little I plan on posting another picture of him to what everyone thinks. So far the cow is doing an excellent job with him and he is just now becoming interested in eating grain.
