My son went to take the halter off his heifer and she threw him with her head and then proceeded to stomp on him. She also bolts anytime we try to walk her. Any suggestions on what to do??? My son is 11 years old and this heifer is a fall born calf. Any suggestions or adivce would be helpful....

A fall born heifer would be a pretty tough project for an 11 year old to break since it sounds like she is only green broke.  Your son needs some strong adult help for this project to work.  Otherwise, he may become intimidated by the heifer and give up or, worse yet, hurt.  A donkey may help if you have one available.  Good luck!

I had a steer that was like that. I just tied him up to our wagon with tractor. And then I just walked by him while someone drove. When he got use to it i held on the rope so it seemed like I was walking him after a 15 min per day doing that it showed improvement. Since your son is only 11 i would be there walking with him when leading. If the heifer starts acting up slap her in the nose just to show her who is boss. Hope it helped
