Looking for suggestions and/or resources for getting a kid started showing goats and/or lambs.  Any advise would be appreciated.  I have a 4 year old son and a 6 year old daughter.  Both show interest in showing, but I don't think they are ready for showing cattle just yet.

The best suggestion that I could give for you would be to get a goat that fits your kids. For example you don't need a 100 pound goat for a 50 pound 4 year old. Time and time again parents buy these monster goats for younger showmen and they end up being drug around in the showring. Another thing would be halter break the goat first. Goats are shown by a chain around their neck, totally different from cattle. So when you first go to break a goat and they are pulling and jumping it is all too easy to choke them down with a chain. Always halter break first then gradually change them to a chain. Best of Luck!
