Sure bears a strong resemblance to his relatives Ildeno and Friggio, doesn't he? What % actual Chi is he? All kidding aside, he does remind me of some of the popular Angus bulls of the 80's. I can't think of a breed that has altered their original state more than Chis.
If you had enlarged the picture, you would see that he's 16.63% Chianina and the rest, Angus. Those promotional bulls at Denver are little to no Chi, or anything else for that matter. They're mutts. I've bred Heat Wave, Believe In Me, Hi Ho Silver & other clubby (some of them popular Denver promotional bulls) sired heifers to add size, power, clean them up and make them sound (and increase the % of Chianina)...just saying.

lookingforchampions has good advice. It is my understanding that Depth Charge gives a fuller appearance up high and the Ultra Full give a deeper appearance. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I use Ultra Full on my bulls and heifers.

Is e a Melroe Farms product? Does JSC Chiangus have semen available on his sire if a person wanted to keep the % Chi higher? Thanks.
He's a product of Cardinal Cattle Company's "The Program Sale". His sire, bred by Schaefer Chiangus was sold to Clifford Farms of Indiana. Have not seen any semen available on him.

At 16.6% Chi, when compared to the clubby and other hot sires of the day, yes, he's high enough % Chi to raise calves eligible to show as Reg. Chianina or Chiangus. Here's and example:

who is going to be the next "great" bull?
The next "Great" bull, or next "Hot" bull? The next "Great" bull is probably not on the hill. Sorry. IMO, he's going through some breed or private sale. Or he's been/being show at the majors in a breed show. Who know's? Chances are that in someone's pasture or lot with some other bulls, just growing and waiting for his chance...
