The Big Show / Wedig Club Calves
« on: September 20, 2013, 10:25:15 PM »
I saw that there were some people looking for some info on Wedig Club Calves. I had the opportunity to go through their cattle and I was very impressed. One of the deepest sets of prospects that I have seen all year and I was very impressed by all the hard work that the Wedig family and their employees have put into their program. I encourage anyone to swing by Darlington Wisconsin and take a look at their cattle, you won't be disappointed. Here is ther blog for y'all. http://wedigclubcalves.blogspot.com/?m=1

The Big Show / Best Brand Of Creep Feeder
« on: July 22, 2012, 08:19:07 AM »
What have people found to be the most rugged, long lasting, and overall best creep feeder. Looking to purchase one to get calves started on grain earlier than in the past.
                                               Thanks, Silent Hollow Farm

The Big Show / Display Mats
« on: July 18, 2012, 09:08:05 AM »
Where do people get the mats that you put in front of your cattle so they don't paw up the bedding. I know that Sullivan's has them but I was wondering if there was a cheaper way to go. Thanks

The Big Show / Young Money
« on: June 28, 2012, 07:46:08 PM »
I have seen a few calves on the internet out of this bull but was wondering if anyone had any experience with him. If so what kind of cows do you think he will work on. I have a THC positive Orange Crush Female that I am planning on breeding to Young Money this week and was wondering what everyone thought of the bull. Thanks

The Big Show / The Ultimate Feed Lot Steer
« on: May 08, 2012, 08:26:46 PM »
This is a very opinion based post but what does everyone think. I know that an Angus steer is hard to beat. But doing some searching and looking at the results from a few studies, it has me thinking about crossing my commercial herd (Angus) on herford bulls. I have been nothing but pleased on how my Angus steers have fed out in the feed lot but then again I haven't tried anything else. What have some of you other feedlot operators found to be the most efficient steer to fill your feedlot with. I am just looking to make my operation as efficient and profitable as possible. Thanks Silent Hollow Farm

The Big Show / Bodacious Question
« on: April 23, 2012, 08:55:38 PM »
What are all of your opinions on this bull. Do you think that he packs enough punch to use on a registered angus. I know that it depends on the cow but I would still like all of your opinions.                                       Thanks, Silent Hollow Farm

The Big Show / Inducing Heat Wave Calves
« on: March 22, 2011, 05:54:04 PM »
Today a friend told me that he has heard that lots of people induce their cows bred to heatwave if they go over their due date.  I know you would only do this if you were 100% that the cow was bred to him and if you had a vet come and check to make sure it is in the righ position.  But after all this would you still induce or not.  This is the first year that I will be having heatwave calves.  My first one is due march 31st and I am a little nervous to say the least (lol)
