The Big Show / Thoughts on future breeding?
« on: September 15, 2016, 03:12:03 PM »
Cow is a Jimmy the Greek x Ang/Meyer.  Thought about using Salty dog, WMW or Gunsmoke. Curious to see what others may think about different bulls or the ones I have listed. Also attached a picture of her as a calf.

The Big Show / Red Angus question
« on: September 20, 2013, 12:49:17 PM »
Have about 20 head of heifers that my dad and I are looking to A.I. back to a red angus bull.  The heifers are 3/4+ red angus influence.  Looking for a bull that is low birth weight, fairly good growth epd.  Also looking for a bull that is going to ad back some look and style.  I have been through the old threads about this and I do not want to use Fat Tony.  I was looking into Perfect Storm and Card Shark.  We also have a purebred red Simmental cow that we are going to breed back to a red angus bull.  I was thinking about using Firestorm and was just wondering what others thoughts were about this bull as well as the other bulls mentioned.  Red cow relocator I know this is your specialty so your advice would be exceptionally great.

The Big Show / Man Among Boys Question
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:27:25 PM »
I have seen quit a few calves in sales this year that are out of Man Among Boys and I really do like them.  My question is what type of cows has he been clicking the best with.  I have a cow that is very terminal in her look, has been since day one.  I am wanting to breed her to something that can through a little femininity in the heifers, but still make the steers/bulls look masculine.  I have looked at breeding her to a purebred bull to get some maternal back into the pedigree.  Just curious if he only works on really feminine cows, cows that need everything fixed or if he just clicks with every cow out there.

The Big Show / Thoughts on this Monopoly X Dr. Who (son) steer
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:14:45 PM »
This steer is sired by Monopoly out of a Dr. Who son cow that I bought from Mike Koch.  He is currently eating 12lbs of feed twice a day and ways roughly 600 lbs. Sorry I don't have any scales to get an exact weight.  He was born the last week of June 2012.  Just curious what everyone's thoughts were on him

The Big Show / New Show to the Circuit in Kansas-Just an idea
« on: March 07, 2013, 02:23:20 PM »
I am thinking about having another show in Kansas at the State Fair grounds.  Much like the Kansas Beef Expo and KSU AGR Kick-off show. My idea, making it different from other shows, is that proceeds would go to a charity or Foundation.  I know there is a show in Texas cattle "Bovines for Boobies."  This is something along the lines off what I am thinking about doing, except for an organization like C.A.R.E. or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or another organization.  So my question for all of you who come to Kansas to show is....Would you come to a show like this?  If so what would be the best month? Right now I am thinking about March.  The Beef Expo is usually in December and the AGR show is usually in February.  I don't want to compete with NWSS in January, so January is out.  Please let me know what you all think.  Again this is just an idea.  Thanks for you input.

The Big Show / Fire Water???
« on: March 04, 2013, 09:53:11 AM »
I am thinking about breeding one of my cows to Fire Water this year.  I was just curious on the birth weights of the Fire Water calves.  The cow I want to breed him to is pictured, sorry that was the best picture I have of her.  She is a very clubby female and I would like to get a little less clubby calves so I can potentially keep back some heifers.  She is a Dr. Who cow out  of a Simmy cross cow.  She was bred to Monopoly last year and had a steer calf in July with no problem, 96 lbs calf.  BUT I am still curious as to how a Fire Water on a Clubby bred cow has worked or will work.
