The Big Show / When to move cows after AI?!
« on: May 07, 2015, 09:45:47 AM »
I have heard so many things about when the best time is to move your cows. I heard move them 72 hours after AI and I I've heard don't move them for 20 days. Opinions on what is the best time to move them after AI?

The Big Show / AI QUESTION!!
« on: March 30, 2015, 12:28:43 PM »
This year we are wanting to change things up. We want to stray completely away from natural service so we wont have to deal with the clean up bulls. What is the best way to go about doing back to back AI'ing and AI'ing the cows that didn't take the first time again? Can someone give us somewhat of a schedule that works for their operation including the synchronization and meds you use.

The Big Show / Help!!!! Newborn calf with white muscle disease!
« on: February 24, 2015, 01:52:20 PM »
This great heifer calf was born yesterday and was super alert and everything looked great today she will not get up and when I pick her up her muscles are extremely tight. Her breathing is getting heavy and her temp is 99.5. I know it is not structure issues and we are just about postive it's white muscle disease. And we are deficient of selenium in our area. We can not get in contact with our vet and have no vitamin e shots to give. We have multi min on hand but that's it. PLEASE HELP!!!! What can we give her to save her??

The Big Show / Weaning Question!!
« on: May 28, 2014, 11:20:52 AM »
With our club calf herd we always have our club calf sale the weekend before Halloween. This year we will be going online for the first time
so we want to push the calves on grain earlier than we usually do. We usually wean at the end of July and halter break all through June
and July and push on grain after weaning. But now we need suggestions on when we should wean the calves since we want them to look fat for the online sale. Any suggestions on when we should wean the calves to start on grain. We were also thinking of trying to weaning nose rings for the calves to ease some of the stress then wean them from their mothers... Any suggestions??

The Big Show / Lubrisyn or better supplements for a calf?!
« on: February 20, 2014, 09:35:40 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with lubrisyn and knows if it works? I have a calf that is amazing out of Walks Alone and he walks out great when he's been moving for awhile but when he first gets up it seems like he ligaments are a tick tight. He slightly turns out one front leg( which depends on whatever one he lays on that day) and when he gets up to start moving he looks a touch over in his knee. He has huge joints along with a giant top, just overall a big thick calf. I want to get him on something now so it helps a lot by the time he goes in our sale. Please let me know of anyone knows the best supplement to fix this!!!!

I'm sure its been mentioned on here 100x but I'm a little confused. I heard the club calf bulls would be there the 17th through the 20th but now I'm seeing on facebook that some of the bulls such as Tomahawk Chop are already there on display. What day is the best day to go see all the Lautner, Rogers, Trausch etc. bulls I really don't wanna miss seeing these great bulls! So please let me know Thanks :)

He just recently started to back off grain again... is there something stronger than baking soda that can keep him on feed till fair?
