Swine Chat / Re: Judging hogs

Look up judging hogs on YouTube. I always remember structure is number 1 in both breeding, balance also it key, then capacity in breeding and muscle in market. I find with market classes many people give up balance because it has alittle bit more muscle, but my personal preference is to find a happy medium between the two.

We use purina precon, winning fill, and beet pulp with our heifers. You could also check out Purina's high octane products we use them as top dress and have had multiple champions in all species using them and know many people who have had good results.

Can you show a cow calf pair with the calf being a registered steer? Or does it have to be a bull or heifer calf ?

I have Hereford Heifers, Shorthorn Steers, and Hampshire Hogs. I am currently looking to make a logo for my farm. Does anyone no of a reasonably priced or free place that would draft a design? Also, what is my better color option a bright royal blue or lime green? or both? Thank you for you opinions!

Around 1300 is a popular weight but not above 1400 they tend to become less free moving if they get too large.
